What is the HSCA?

Hertfordshire Schools Chess Association (HSCA) was founded in 1985 to organise tournaments and provide training for young chess players in Hertfordshire.

The tournaments we organise in association with local school chess coaches include:

• South West Herts League
• Herts Primary School League
• Hertfordshire Junior Championships
• London Junior Chess Championships (LJCC) qualifying tournament
• Delancey UK Schools Chess Challenge MegaFinals

The HSCA is affiliated to the English Primary Schools Chess Association (EPSCA) and we enters teams in the Inter-Association Championships. The competition has three categories: under-9, under-11 and under-11 girls.

The Annual General meeting is held at the start of the season, normally in October.

The Committee are always interested to hear from parents who would like to join them and/or assist in running events.
