The English Primary Schools' Chess Association (EPSCA) organises three national events for children of primary school age, details of which can be found through the following links: 

The HSCA aims to enters teams in the Inter-Association Championships in all three categories: under-9, under-11 and under-11 girls.

The top two boards of the under-11 team may be nominated to participate directly in EPSCA's England Team Trials instead of obtaining two norms from the qualifying competitions. 

EPSCA Inter-Association Championship 2025

This year Hertfordshire's under-9 and under-11 teams had managers but not the under-11 girls. Consequently, we only participated in two competitions.

Under-9 East Zone

Saturday 8th March at Moulsham Junior School, Chelmsford.

The top four teams qualified to the final.

The competition comprised 3 rounds of jamboree pairings. Rate of play was 30min plus 10sec per move.
