The U9 Zone East was held at Chingford Foundation School, London E4 7LT.
There were 8 teams and the competition took place over 12 boards and three rounds using jamboree pairing. The top 6 teams qualified for the final.
Kent finished top on 26.5 from 26. Richmond (26), Essex (23), Herts (20.5), Barnet (19.5) and Cambridge (16) all qualified.
One Herts player, Charlie Ball (bd 12) won all three of his games. The other high scorers were Vikas Kaleria (bd 4), Kyal Shah (bd 5), Iyioluwa Olagbegi (bd 6), Charles Harris (bd 9) and Rohan Tathare (bd 11) who each scored two points.
