General information:

 (1) For reasons of space and comfort, maximum entry 32. The organisers reserve the right to decline entry, whether due to this figure having been reached or for any other reason.

 (2) The international laws of chess shall apply other than as may be announced before play begins.

 (3) If a player has not arrived at his/her board 5 minutes after the start of a round s/he may be defaulted and his/her opponent should report to the Chief Arbiter for possible re-pairing.

 (4) In the event of two or more competitors finishing with the same score, prizes will be divided – there will be no tie-breaks.

 (5) Competitors are eligible to win more than one prize – so, if for example an outright winner is under 10, s/he can expect £125.

 (6) Competitors will normally play in all six rounds.  However, if someone decides to withdraw early, s/he should inform the Chief Arbiter before the draw for the next round is made – this avoids inconveniencing others.

 (7) The Chief Arbiter’s decision in all matters shall be final.

 (8) Competitors and parents should be aware that results may be published on the ECF website (notably, for rating purposes) and elsewhere and, in entering this tournament, they consent to their data being used for tournament and administration purposes.

 (9) There are no facilities for food/drink at the venue so it is recommended that parents bring some food/drink with them.

(10)  The limited on-site parking is restricted to those involved in organising the event, who will need to load/offload equipment, and is therefore off limits to others.   There is however a municipal car park immediately across the road in The Harebreaks, and another slightly further away in Longspring, either of which is available at modest cost.

 (11) Although this is a Swiss-paired tournament, the organisers reserve the right to adopt accelerated Swiss pairings in early rounds if the profile of entries appears to them to make this desirable.
