Herts Primary School League

Season 2015-16

This season we have not been able to find a suitable venue to accommodate the League at its traditional time during the Winter and Spring terms. The competition has, therefore, had to be postponed.

Update (15-May-2016): It is now proposed that the competition will be held as a one day event on one Saturday in September, possibly in Harpenden. The date and venue will be announced when they are confirmed.

It’s all over for another year. What a great venue at Mount Grace School. They hosted us very well and made us all very welcome.

Many congratulations to the children from Haberdashers’ Aske’s School, Radlett School and Beacon School for winning their respective leagues.

I’ve not been able to confirm dates at the school for next season but I do hope that we shall be able to have similar dates.

I am still hopeful of finding a venue in a different part of the County to run an extra league so that there can be a match to decide the County Champions. I tried this past year but without success. There are several schools playing in the Hitchin / Letchworth area which are playing matches. Please do let me know if you know of any schools which I should be approaching.

Our thanks should go to the committee who work extremely hard on your behalf to provide chess organization of a high standard for your children.
